FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce, the Central Louisiana Economic Development Alliance (CLEDA), and the Cenla Advantage Partnership (CAP), announced a reorganization today that will create a new, vibrant economic development organization for a ten-parish central Louisiana region.

“Almost two years of planning have gone into this new venture, and we are very proud of the results,” said Deborah Randolph, Chair, Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. “ The new organization will include the best economic development assets of the Chamber, CLEDA and CAP under one roof, speaking with one voice. This is a very exciting day for the region.”

The new organization will retain the CLEDA name. The new CLEDA will be a rent-paying tenant of the Chamber of Commerce and will work closely with the Chamber on business and policy issues.

The new organization will include a division focused on major employers. This division will be responsible for recruitment, expansion, and retention of companies with substantial numbers of employees. It will use cluster strategies and Louisiana Economic Development’s Blue Ocean Strategies work to attract, retain and grow large employers. Much of this work has previously been performed by the existing CLEDA as an arm of the Chamber.
