As railroads were to the 19th century and highways to 20th so is air travel to the 21st century.  The globalization of our economy continues with the swift moving of goods, people and information key to economic growth.  Airports, with safe runways, ramps, navigation aids, are key to opening Louisiana’s communities for economic development.  On any given day at AEX, numerous business travelers access the commercial services at the terminal.  Significantly, a large number of persons use corporate or general aviation to meet their business needs.  At AEX, millions of pounds of air cargo pours in and out on an annual basis.  All of this is made possible by a safe, effective and efficient infrastructure.
